La lucha continúa
Aw, thanks Erin. I must say that the same is true of you and I will be looking for confident, beautiful, successful friends like you in the future to help fund the revolution ;)
In a related story, I don't know why when I'm having a stroke related to stress I don't look to Erin and her pragmatic wisdom more often. She comes not only with sound advice but a cool and calm nature and then secret blog encouragements. I must remember to turn to Erin more often as turning to Brad generally tends to exacerbate my stress and insanity - sorry Brad, I still will seek your help out for rants etc. etc. further - I seem to love drama which is probably why I don't turn to Erin straight away.
However, I do feel, Brad it IS worth noting that Erin has expressed that she is becoming primed for the revolution - and, well Brad you're not. So pft! La lucha continua (Solidarity indeed....)
Back to reading about things like: treaty-federalism, land claims, Indigeneity, and Two Row Wampum... help me.
"Oka, Ipperwash, Caledonia. Blockades, masked warriors, police snipers. Why? Canada's Failure to address and resolve the legitimate claims for First Nations. Imagine your new neighbour comes into your backyard and fences off half of it. Then he sells it to someone down the street. This new neighbour tells you he got a good deal but he won't say how much he got. Then, he says that he'll take care of the cash – on your behalf, of course. Maybe he even spends a little on himself. You complain. He denies he did anything wrong. What would you do? Go to the proper authorities? Turns out the authorities and their agencies work for him. Sue him? He tells you that none of the lawyers can work for you – he's got every one in town working for him. When he finally lets a lawyer work for you – it turns out that he can afford five of them for every one you can afford. Finally he says: Okay, I'm willing to discuss it. But first you have to prove I did something wrong. Oh, and I get to be the judge of whether you've proved it. And, if you do prove it, I get to set the rules about how we'll negotiate. I'll decide when we've reached a deal and I'll even determine how I'll pay the settlement out to you. Oh, and I hope you're in no rush because this is going to take about twenty to thirty years to settle. Sounds crazy? Welcome to the world of Indian Specific Claims. Wait a minute, isn't the revolution you've been preparing for not exactly friendly to, uh, you know, whiteys? And redheads are pretty much the whitest of the whiteys.
wow. way to reaffirm the established walls of our oppressed society. you're first on the list.
Hey, I'm probably already on several lists, and Joanna already told me there'd be no room for me in the warrior society. Now the ninja society...
Sigh, to be fair Toby, I said SOME people don't think there is room for uh, whiteys, at the other end of the revolution - not all, or really, most. Also, you said you'd welcome your "warrior overlords" (helping or hurting only time will tell). Okay, writing about this, this sarcastically is dooming me to hell or to be one of the 'cracked eggs' it takes to make the metaphorical omelet. Still, you best watch your back Toby... WHITE.
