Can't sleep...
Although I've been netting a ridiculously low amount of sleeping hours this week I've got to the point where I'm restless again. It was probably a bad decision to watch Catch a Fire with the roommates so late (good movie though) but, for this I'll blame Renée - she knows why.
Re: The film, the premise is along the lines of a mantra of one of my prof's re: the IRA (and other such, er, situations?) namely that the British's increased "security" measures in the 60s/70s were the IRA's biggest recruiting tools.... After the film I told Erin she should send a copy of it to Rob Anders' office maybe it'd problematize his conceptualization of 'terrorism'. Then I realized, nah, he'd just take it to demonstrate how Mandela and those ANC supporters were terrorists just as he'd thought all along. Wow that isn't even funny, it's depressing. In any case, the movie was quite good, not the best one I've ever seen but worth watching. It reminded me of enjoying this song when I was young (which made me feel pretty special and even social justice-y back then, I know I'm a loser):
The movie choice was definitely better than than watching Apocalyptowhich I was going to subject myself to in "honour" of ""National"" Aboriginal Day (I feel that the use of National in this day's title is so problematic it requires extra quotation marks). I realized however, I did not need to invoke that much rage from myself .... tonight.
