Babies!

Okay, so here's the scoop my sister (Teresa) is one of those moms sometimes. I told her how a few of my friends all had nieces around the same time as my niece, Eve, was born (or for some of us, grand nieces ahem). In any case, now she thinks they're in a competition with each other, okay, okay I may have told her that we kinda jokingly sent pictures to each other at the CASA office of our nieces which yielded some competition (but that plan was fraught, I mean come on who was going to judge that Caen?) Now though my sister wants to know the following information about both Elodie and Zanna.

1) Did she sleep through the night right away?
(Trick question, Eve did).

2) When did she start to eat foods like cheerios?
(This is more curiosity I believe insofar as one my first days here meeting Eve there was a "choking incident" with a teething biscuit - note I'm pretty sure she wasn't choking but Kevin's CPR skills kicked it into high gear pretty quick - good to know I guess).

3) Does she have teeth, if so how many?
(Part trick question, part pursuant to the "choking incident" - Eve has 2 bottom teeth and seems to be getting toppers - or at least all the book chewing of late seems to indicate).

So there you have it. But, here's a little challenge for all you beautiful 2006 nieces - Dakota Fanning learned how to read when she was two. I'm just saying.....

Here's Eve saying Merry Christmas to Zanna and Elodie (actually it was taken in October and Eve can't talk but isn't that part of the perks of being "Tante Jo" I can attribute things to her whilst she can't talk you know that annoying way people talk to their puppies or babies saying things like "OH that's just her saying good morning, right, baby?" - no?)

In my defence I would like to say that I really am not one of "those Mom's" per say but that I do have a bit of a competitive side. All the little ones seem very beautiful, bright and charming. I must also note that Tante Jo is loved very much by her niece Eve!

Okay...I shall attempt to answer the questions.

#1 - the implied question...yes I am 30 and have a great-niece. I'm an oldie.

#2 - Zanna didn't sleep well at all at first because it turned out she was allergic to formula. For the first three months she hardly slept more than an hour at a time because she was always sick...poor little one. However, through the magic of soy and now regular milk she is a much happier, less vomitty baby.

#2 - She started eating teething cookies about two months ago...I do believe she is a little older than Eve though and therefore has an unfair advantage.

#3 - Zanna also has two bottom teeth (BFF forever separated at birth?) with more coming in...poor doll's cheeks get all red when her teeth hurt.

As she is a bit older she is also waving, saying mom and dad, throwing her arms up in the air to tell you how big she is and pointing at you when she likes you (as displayed by her recent picture with Santa).

Pictures of Zanna saying hi to Elodie and Eve?? Why yes...http://www.babyzanna.piczo.com...hopefully my niece Amber updates the site soon as most of these are at least two months old and we've taken some very cute ones over the holidays.

Zanna is perfect to me (as all babies should be to their families) even though she is a little diva. She also love, love, loves the Backyardigans.

I look forward to more pictures and videos of all the babies as I think they are all cute beyond all mention. Jo the pictures of you and Eve are wonderful and I'm so, so glad you got home to meet her.

Elodie

1) Yes, but it only lasted a little while. 2 Months, I think.

2) She started on solids (including cheerios) at 4 months.

3) Does she have teeth, if so how many?
No, but given her attitude tonight I think there are some on the way.

She says Da-da and Ma-ma, but I don't really think she knows what those mean. She also shakes her head 'no', but I don't think she knows what that means either.

I thought I'd add, I'm Kayla, Robbie's fiance.

1. Elodie did sleep through at 6 weeks, then did not. However, now she sleeps 12-13 hours/night without waking up and has two or three 1 1/2 hour naps each day.
2. She didn't start eating Cheerios until 6 months (Robbie!), but she did start solids at 4. She now eats more than any baby I've ever met and STILL only weighs 13.5 lbs. Somebody got the White family genes!
3. See Robbie's answer.

:) Your neice is SOOO uber cute, by the way.
