Screw Miami Vice....

This summer you have to go see Bon Cop, Bad Cop. Seriously. This movie was great. I saw it on Saturday with Gen "in french". It is a bilingual movie and it does a great job of using both french and english - and mixing up who uses it when. For so many reasons I think this movie is brilliant as well as just a fun time. The buddy cop and action stuff is so over the top that it's great. So you can enjoy it on that level and say I dunno Phil can be like "Dude! DID YOU SEE THAT BOMB?" I am excited to see it again when it opens "in english" in Ontario - and presumably the rest of Canada next weekend (the movie plays with french subtitles over the english portions when "in french" and vice versa "in english"). As I am just learning french there were a few parts that I missed as I am not quite adept at slang or super fast talking - see hottie mchottertan's (aka Patrick Huard) lab work buddy in the flick (he's in the trailers below). Also, to switch back and forth between english and french was hard on my mind at times (in terms of comprehension) as I didn't have time to always "settle" into someone's accent or whatever. Anyways, this movie is like the best of the lethal weapons (1 and 4 if you ask me) but with this whole other dimension that is so Canadian and well I will spare the geek-out full force - but, if you don't go see it I won't! There that should get you to go see it. I actually do want to see this movie be a success in Canada especially beyond Quebec's borders.

Here are two trailers "in french" for the film - didn't find any that I could embed that were in english... but you can see the charm of the movie!

ps - another good movie is little miss sunshine, but I will not be forcing you to see that one nor, will I lead letter-writing campaigns if the film doesn't show across Canada.
